The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

Where to begin. I don't think I'm going to actually review this book, as much as just post my thoughts on it directly from last night. But I will surely say, that it is definitely a book that should be read. And, I think it's the saddest story, that I've ever read.

I haven't actually read it however, I listened to it on audio book. And while it was fun, it was also a new experience. This was the first book that I listened to on audio book, and I was so excited, and had a much better response to it and paid much more attention to it than I thought I would be able to, because my mind tends to wander without much notice of my brain at times.

All I can really say, is that I truly enjoyed this book, and came away very heartbroken from it. I sat in my room last night and listened to the last two parts. I just could not wait any longer to find out what happens to Bruno and Shmuel. And while I was finding out, I found myself very scared for both of them and was whispering "oh my god, no" over and over again. By the time it was over I was crying my eyes out. All I could do was sit there on my bed and breathe. I just couldn't believe it.

There's an interview with the author; John Boyne, at the end, it shed light on some questions I had about this book and I found his thoughts and views very interesting.

Even though I feel a little dreadful about having the actual book sitting on my bookshelf right now, having to look at it, I do plan on actually reading it sometime this year, when I'm ready to know this story again.

No Longer M.I.A. I Feel a Squeal and a Rave.

Yep. There is definitely a squeal and raving coming on. I am a huge Everlast fan. Again. I sort of rumbled off of the music scene for a while. I still listened of course, but I lost track of my favorite artists, carelessly. And I fell into a comfortable groove of the same ol' stuff over and over again. I got a Sansa mp3 player for Christmas (and I freakin' love it!), and it came with a free trial to Rhapsody, I searched for him and became very thrilled to see he had a new album out. It is freakin' awesome. It's so different from anything he's done. It's sort of like he re-invented himself. You must give it a little listen at least. It's called: Love, War, and the Ghost of Whitey Ford. I loves, I loves. &, here's his official site: here. Even if you don't like his music you might appreciate the man himself, cos he's one good lookin' Irish man. (Well, I think so at least.) :p Hee!

Anywhoozer, I downloaded the audio book of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I haven't started listening to it yet though, I can't seem to stay away from the music on my player long enough just yet to give the book my full listening attention. But I plan to try to do that tonight. also I haven't even touched any of my current reads. I really need to pick up on them again. Oyness. I also want to try to read at least one little chapter in each of them tonight.

So that's all I've been up to. I'm really excited for my blog in the new year, lol, because it's going to get a new name, & not really a new look, but I made some new graphics, and I plan to cut some stuff from my sidebar and re-arrange it a little. Oh! And, my reading challenge that I'm hosting begins! Woohoo! So that's it on my shameless plug. :)

I got the MP3 player I wanted for Christmas yesterday, and I took a closer look at the features right away, and it's compatible for audio books! Yayness. I checked out the library's digital catalog last night and I found five audio books I want to check out. Which are: The Boy in the Striped Pajama's, Dragon Rider, Before Green Gables, The Book Thief, and Twilight. I know I said I wasn't into Twilight before, but since I went to see the movie, it peaked my interest a little more, and I think in audio book form it might be easier to get through. Plus, there's a much shorter wait for audio (30 other people) than regular book (over 500 other people, eep!) form. I can barely wait until Christmas so I can try it out and load it up with some stuff! :)

I did some reading last night like I had planned, though I only read 60 pages or so. I decided to continue on with Moonlight Downs since it'd been a while since I had picked it up. I left off at page 13, I thought it would get better as I kept reading and got further in, and I was definitely right. :) It's getting funnier and a little spooky with what just happened to Lincoln, and I really want to find out the truth behind it and who did it.

I'm planning on reading more tonight after my TV shows come on. I'm annoyed at television tonight though because Absolutely Fabulous isn't coming on tonight. I hope it's just for this once. I just started watching it a few weeks ago and I'd be totally bummed if it was cut off from the schedule, I just love Edina and Patsy, they're freakin' hilarious! I also get a kick out of Bubbles!

That's about all I have to ramble on about for now, there's still a little bit before my shows start, so I'm off to wander the web a bit more! :)
