Romance Week: Let's Talk Series, Part 1 of 3.

Let's Talk Series, Part One: New Series of Interest.

I admit, I use the term "new" loosely. But it is a newly discovered series by myself, and I just have so much to say about it!
I call it a new series of interest, because it is exactly that: a new series I am interested in. Of course, there are loads of books on my TBR list and a good amount of them are part of a series. It was hard to choose just one for this part, but I narrowed it down by one I have recently purchased (& will be reading very soon), and I have read an excerpt of. I have to say, that I am going by the excerpt mostly. I loved what I read so much that I had to go ahead and buy it. There were other factors, but first I think I should name the series. :D

The series I am talking about is the Connor Clan series by Anita Clenney. The first book is Awaken the Highland Warrior. (You can also check the books out on goodreads, as the author's website does not look frequently updated.)
I featured the first book's cover back in July last year as part of a favorite covers week, and it kept popping into my head from time to time. I knew I had to look into it further. Not just because of the tartan clad highlander on the cover, but because it is a time-travel. I have become much more interested in time-travel romance ever since I read and loved Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I have a few more on my list where people go back in time, but I think I have just a few more where the hero is transported to the modern times. I can't really explain why, but I just find that so much more amusing seeing how the author has them adapt to all the different things. (Outlander being the exception of course.)
I hate looking at the next books of the series before I've even read the first book, but I had to take a peek at the synopsis of the second book in this case. I think it looks even better than the first book. And the good news is, they are both already released. There is a third book forthcoming, but I haven't been able to find a publication date for it anywhere. Goodreads says 2012, but a newsletter I found from the author looks as though she is still finishing it. So, that of course means a wait for the last book, but plenty of time to get to know the characters in the first two books. :) Something I am looking forward to doing this year.
I think I will wrap this post up here and if you decide to take a chance and check out this series further, I hope you like it!

Lynn Kurland is a big fan of time travel in her romance books. Her books are good.
